You want to try out new things, but do you feel you are not ready yet?
Do you feel insecure when you need to do something that you have never done? And that’s why do you postpone the beginning for some better times, when are you more ready?
If you answer any of these questions with YES, it is very likely that you have a lack of self-confidence, and that because of this lack of self-confidence you have a hard time to start something new, something that you really want.
What is self-confidence?
Before we deal with low self-confidence, first we need to consider what the term of self-confidence means. As human beings, we have the ability not only to be aware of ourselves but to evaluate our own value or value of some aspects of ourselves. According to that, self-confidence is the way in which we see ourselves, we think of ourselves, and the value we assign to ourselves as a person.
In essence, people with low self-confidence have deep, basic, negative beliefs about themselves and their own personality. These beliefs are usually taken as facts or truths about their identity. As a result, low self-confidence can have negative consequences for a person and their life. These people are too self-critical, they often joke on account on themselves in a negative way, they are suspicious of themselves and blame themselves when the situation in which they participate go wrong. If they are given compliments for something they have done well, they usually attach it to luck or a case rather than their abilities.
Think and act positively
Positive energy leads to positive outcomes. Therefore, train your mind to observe only the positive side of any situation, avoiding a negative attitude, which can make you feel less secure. Smile, be cool and surround yourself with happy, positive people. Nothing is better for your self-esteem than the people with whom every activity is enjoyable and who enjoy your company. In addition to helping you to really see your life in a different way, you will also begin to look at yourself differently. You will see your virtues much faster than your faults, which will also contribute to your self-esteem.
Don’t be afraid to take action
Gaining self-confidence doesn’t just include the working on your appearance and behavior, but also on your actions. Be brave, bold, innovative, creative, and do something that you would otherwise not. Think like a person who has confidence. Practice this way of thinking and change the perspective from which you are looking at challenges. Each problem seems less important if you approach it with the idea that the solution exists, that is, you are able to find a way out.
Stop doubting in your qualities, believe in yourself and others will believe in you!
It’s such a simple thing, but it can make a big difference in how others see you. A person with authority speaks slowly and shows self-confidence. A person who considers that what he speaks is not worth hearing is going to speak fast because he does not want others to spend time on something that is not worth their time. Even if you do not have the confidence of someone who speaks slowly, try doing it several times. This will make you feel more confident. Of course, do not go to the extreme, but just do not sound like you’re in a hurry.
